Marcia was one of the original members of the world-music ensemble, Karamawen, the brainchild of fellow musicians Jim Dees (custom-carved Native American wood flutes) and Tim Morris (didgeridoo and percussion).  She often performed her poetry accompanied by the ensemble, and she also played drums from indigenous cultures.

While attending college at Florida State University, Marcia played cymbals in the "Big 8" drum section of the Marching Chiefs for three years (1980, 1981 & 1982).

Marcia wrote "You Are The Reason" in 1985.  Her sister Laura arranged and performed the song in the recording.
